An Atikokan man has been fined $8,000 for dumping hazardous material on crown land.
Conservation officers began their investigation this past spring after a social media post.
They found construction material containing asbestos had been left near Sunshine Lake, northwest of Atikokan.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says more than 50 bags of siding material had been dumped prior to May 30th.
Andree De Vabre was fined but removed the material and disposed of it properly prior to the court date.
