Donald Trump’s tariffs could happen as early as Saturday.
The U.S. president previously said he would put a 25 per cent tax on Canadian and Mexican exports,
if the two countries do not tighten up border security.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reiterated Trump’s position yesterday.
As far as I’m still tracking, and that was last night talking to the president directly, February first is still on the books,” says Leavitt.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meeting with premiers again today to discuss how the feds would respond to the tariffs.
However, they have not revealed any details of those plans.
