Feds looking for strategies to handle U.S. tariff threat

The federal finance minister is looking for strategies to deal with the U.S. tariff threat.

According to the CBC, Dominic LeBlanc sent a memo to other ministers, asking for help on the relationship our country has with the U.S.

Details are few, but LeBlanc says he is only willing to put money towards the U.S. making things more affordable and the country’s economic growth.

President Donald Trump threatened to put 25 per cent tariffs on most Canadian imports to the U.S. until he paused the move on Tuesday for 30 thirty days after speaking to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau agreed to several new measures to deal with people and fentanyl illegally crossing the border.
