Dryden OPP arrest suspect wanted on Canada-wide warrant

The Dryden OPP say they have arrested a 73 year old British Columbia man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Sioux Lookout OPP initially tried to stop a vehicle on Highway 17 on February 9th around 4 am after they observed it being operated unsafely, but they did not give chase.

Dryden officers then located the vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Bonney Bay Road and were safely able to stop it.

Police arrested the driver, and a search of the vehicle located a firearm.

He’s been charged with flight from police, three charges of unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon.

The accused has been remanded into custody and will appear in Dryden court at a later date.
