Inspector Illman bids adieu to the Dryden OPP detachment

The Dryden OPP will be looking for a new detachment commander.

Inspector Adam Illman informed the Dryden OPP Detachment Board meeting this week that he will be leaving his post later this month.

“As of the 17th of March, I will be transferring to the Red Lake Detachment,” Illman told the board.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time in Dryden. This decision and move are strictly due to family reasons.”

Illman has been the detachment commander for two and a half years, appointed to the position in September of 2022.

“I’ve enjoyed working with everyone, from the police boards, community groups, and agencies and I’m very much going to miss my time here and the people here. I’m still going to be living here but working in Red Lake.”

Illman had previous spent time in Kenora has a staff sergeant and was on consignment to the Treaty Three Police Service before being assigned to be the detachment commander in Dryden.
