St. Thomas Aquinas has won the seniors trophy at the NorWOSSA badminton championships at Sioux North high School yesterday in Sioux Lookout.
This is the first time the Saints have won the overall trophy, which is based on the most sets won by all individuals or teams.
Delaney Turner won gold in the senior girls, while Tyson Ponton and Ryder Kosis won gold in the junior boy’s division.
Maddyn Hughes and Parker Francis took silver in mixed doubles.
All five are heading to the NWOSSA championships next week.
The Saints badminton team is made up of Addyson Greer, Reese Rody, Sophie Muise, Fenton McEwan, Ruzelle Daming, Nicholas Nelson, Maddyn Hughes,Parker Francis and Delaney Turner.
