The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation says it’s had success in dealing with the City of Kenora.
Executive Director Lynn McAughey says a recent deputation to city council has borne fruit.
“They are our first donors to our Circle of Giving campaign,” explains McAughey.
“That’s a three-year campaign we have in our strategic plan to assist us with our increased costs and to help us do to a better job of doing a better job of donor engagement and support.”
She recently requested the city donate another $5,000 a year to the campaign.
McAughey adds the city also agreed to a request to help out with the Community Foundation’s administration costs.
“We have a new agreement in place with our administration fee for the City of Kenora fund, which is a fairly large fund here in the city and gives grants to many community groups.”
The Community Foundation recently granted $505,000 to 38 groups as part of its annual granting ceremony.
