Police respond to violent assault on Mishkeegogamang

Four men on the Mishkeegogamang (New Osnaburgh) First Nation, south of Pickle Lake, have been charged after a serious assault.

The Nishnawbe Aski Police say they were called out last Tuesday, August 5th.

Officers learned there had been an altercation outside a home on Muddy Lane.

Police say two of the men were armed with blunt objects and smashed out windows in the home.

A violent confrontation took place between the two men and another group of men.

Two men also sustained injuries and were transported to the community nursing station then to hospital in Thunder Bay for treatment.

Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

Charges of mischief, aggravated assault, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a probation order have been issued.
