2 arrested in Kenora drug bust

A 71 year old Kenora man and a 30 year old Keewatin woman have been charged following a drug bust in the Pinecrest area.

On Tuesday afternoon, the OPP say two people were arrested on Lakeview Drive as a result of an on-going drug investigation.

As a result of their arrests, police executed a search warrant on a residence on Heenan Place.

About $6,400 in hydromorphone was seized along with Canadian currency, some unmarked contraband cigarette and other items associated with drug trafficking.

The man faces two charges of drug trafficking, proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession unmarked cigarettes for sale.

He’s being held in custody pending a court appearance at a later date.

The woman faces just one charge of drug trafficking and had been release from custody with a future court date.
