Missouri anglers fined for over limit of walleye

Two American anglers have been fined over $5,000 for have an over limit of walleye.

Court heard that Terry Tennill of Independence, Missouri had 11 walleye over the legal limit, and Michael Williams of Sugar Creek, Missouri, caught six walleye over the legal limit.

They were stopped while crossing the Canada/US border at Emerson and were found to be transporting several bags of frozen fish fillets.

It was determined they were fishing north of Kenora on the English River system on June 10th of this year.

The bags of frozen fish were seized and turned over to an Ontario conservation officer.

The Ontario conservation officer determined the men had caught and retained numerous walleye over the legal limit.

They were fined $3,300 and $1,800 respectively.
