City safety survey deadline approaching

Kenora residents only have a few days remaining to respond to a community safety survey.

The city’s Crime Prevention and Community Well-Being Advisory Committee is gathering input toward the development of a community safety and well-being plan.

An online survey was unveiled at the beginning of February.

“Community safety and crime prevention is a priority of Council, and the work that the CPCWB committee is doing will not only shape the direction of our new plan but will also aid us in addressing ongoing concerns in our community,” states Mayor Andrew Poirier in a release.

The city says the questions were designed to give a snapshot in time of the community’s experiences and the perceptions on safety, well-being, and related topics.

“Your perspectives play a pivotal role in shaping a comprehensive plan, ensuring it reflects the diverse needs of our visitors and residents, says committee chair,” Darcia Curtis.

Anyone with a connection to the community is encouraged to fill out the survey.

The committee is particularly interested in hearing from youth 18 to 25.

The survey is on the city’s website until February 29th.
