Assault and drug charges laid in Summer Beaver

The Nishnawbe Aski Police have laid a number of charges following an assault on the Summer Beaver First Nation.

Police were contacted this past Friday evening about an assault.

The victim was stabbed with an edged weapon.

The suspect was also found to be in possession of cocaine.

A 33 year old woman has been charged with drug trafficking, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000.

She appeared for a bail hearing and is being held in custody pending a future court appearance.
