Saints cheer squad earns two first place finishes at Manitoba championships

The St. Thomas Aquinas cheerleading team picked up a couple of gold medals from the Manitoba Provincial Cheer Championships in Winnipeg over the weekend.

The Saints placed first in the Intermediate Division and were also crowned Scholastic Grand Champions, earning the highest score of the day.

That distinguished them as the best among all Manitoba scholastic teams.

The cheer squad is made up of students from grade 7 to 12.

Recently the Saints also competed in the OFSAA regional cheerleading competition in Thunder Bay and finished fourth, completing against teams comprised solely of students in grades 9 to 12.
