Trudeau releases statement on passing of Arthur L. Irving

The Prime Minister has released a statement on the passing of Arthur L. Irving.

Justin Trudeau says it’s with sadness that he learned of Irving’s passing.

The PM called the New Brunswick native a successful and respected Canadian business leader and philanthropist.

Trudeau offered his deepest condolences to Irving’s family and friends, and said he will always be remembered and deeply missed.

Irving passed away Monday at age 93.

He joined his father’s company, Irving Oil in 1951, and became one of the countries’ top employers.

Irving was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame, alongside his brothers Jim and Jack.
