Collision claims one life on Highway 17 east of Dryden

The OPP say one person was killed in a collision that closed Highway 17 near Dryden late Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:30 Wednesday night a passenger vehicle and a semi transport trailor crashed into eachother.

One of the people in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the transport sustained only minor injuries.

A post-mortem exam will be conducted in Toronto.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation the the Northwest Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and traffic collision reconstructionists.

The name of the deceased has not been released.
