Sioux Lookout OPP lay attempted murder charges

A 23-year-old Brampton man has been charged with attempted murder as a result of a firearms investigation in Sioux Lookout.

On August 16th the OPP were contacted about a disturbance on Millar Crescent.

This past Friday evening, police had to remove an unwanted person from a residence on King Street.

A suspect was arrested, and a restricted firearm was also recovered.

As a result of the on-going investigation two charges of attempting to commit murder using a restricted firearm have been laid.

In addition, he faces a number of other firearm related charges including:

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Discharge a Firearm into or at a Place in a Reckless Manner

He’s being held in custody pending a court day in Kenora on Wednesday.
