Students get skilled trades showcase in Thunder Bay this week

Schools are showing off skilled trades in Ontario this week.

Seven education districts will host the Northwest OYAP Provincial Affiliation Conference this week

The OYAP or the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program lets high school students explore skilled trades careers through co-op programs.

According to a news release from the Thunder Bay Catholic School Board, 115 recruiters from the program will promote the apprenticeship opportunities.

The board says students will be able to meet industry professionals and tackle workshops in their perspective sectors.

The event will take place at the Delta Waterfront Hotel in Thunder Bay from Wednesday through Friday.
