Busy long weekend for forest fires

There are now 38 active wildfires in the northwest region.

Over the long weekend, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reports there were 22 new blazes reported.

12 of those were in the Red Lake District.

Right now, five are considered under control, three are being held, six are not under control and 24 are being observed.

The fire hazard is mostly high, with pockets of extreme.
