Trump safe after apparent assassination attempt in Florida

The FBI is investigating what they say “appears to be an attempted assassination” of former president Donald Trump while he was at his golf club in West Palm Beach, F.L., according to the Associated Press.

Law enforcement officials said a man was pointing an “AK-style” gun into the golf club while Trump was playing on the course.

U.S. Secret Service opened fire at the man, who dropped his gun and drove away in an SUV, the article said.

He was later arrested in nearby county.

No one was reported injured, and an AK-style gun was recovered near the golf course.

This comes about two months after another man attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump narrowly missed being shot by slightly turning his head, the bullet grazing his hear.

The investigation continues.
