Charges laid in 2023 fatal collision

A lengthy investigation into a fatal collision near Dryden has now resulted in charges.

Provincial Police say a 26-year-old from Surrey, British Columbia, faces two counts of criminal negligence causing death and one of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

OPP were assisted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and British Columbia (BC) Sheriff Service

Two youths from Shoal Lake were killed in the April 2023 collision that included three vehicles, including a transport.

OPP says the B.C. resident was held in custody but has since been released and returned to court in October.

Publication bans about the case have also since been issued by the court.
