Ignace receives funding for Pine Street culvert repairs

Ignace held an event to recognize the repairs of culverts on Pine Street in Ignace.

In 2022, a major flood damaged the road and culverts on the street.

The town received $1,041,570.23 to help them complete the project.

“There are no questions that without the financial support of the Province of Ontario, our small community would never be able to afford such significant repairs and replacement costs for key infrastructure projects that need to be completed in Ignace,” said Mayor Kim Baigrie.

“Pine Street is now repaired, and we have two new culverts to ensure that water flow and monitoring can take place while the damn at Agimak Lake continues to also be repaired.”
