Dryden resident facing 29 charges following provincial police investigation

A Dryden resident is facing dozens of charges following the execution of two search warrants in the community.

On Thursday evening officers were sent to a home on Kellar Road in Dryden after receiving reports of threats being made, triggering an investigation.

Through the investigation, two warrants were executed on Sunday.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Dryden resident is facing the following charges:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm-spousal – x2
  • Uttering threats to damage property
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Assault – Spousal
  • Failure to comply with release order other than attend court – x8
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous weapon
  • Pointing a firearm – x2
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon – x3
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – x3
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon
  • Resist peace officer
  • Failure to comply with prohibition order

A 72-year-old from the Township of Britton is also facing the following charges as a result of the investigation:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Resist peace officer

The 72-year-old accused has been released with conditions and a future court date, while the 41-year-old remains in custody with a future court date.
