Provincial police seize over 1.3 kilograms of cocaine in Sioux Lookout

A drug trafficking investigation in Sioux Lookout has resulted in the seizure of over 1.3 kilograms of cocaine and unmarked cigarettes.

On Monday around 9:30 p.m. provincial police officer performed a traffic stop on Highway 72 through the investigation after forming grounds to believe the vehicle contained illegal drugs.

The driver was arrested and the cocaine and unmarked cigarettes were located and seized.

As a result, a 57-year-old from Worthington Ontario is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on Wednesday.
