12 forest fires burning in North West Ontario

Forest Fire Services confirm two more fires are burning in North Western Ontario.

Firefighters are keeping a fire on Queens Island from growing, according to a news release.

It’s located about 22 kilometres southwest of Kenora on the Lake of the Woods.

And they’re keeping an eye on a fire near White Otter Lake, 41 kilometres northwest of Atikokan.

A total of 12 fires are burning in the region.

Much of the North West is a forest fire hazard zone, with the most extreme danger around Thunder Bay.
