Habitat for Humanity holding information session about Kenora’s newest build

Another information session for potential families interested in the next Habitat for Humanity build in Kenora.

Dave Cain heads up the local Habitat committee and says they have a sub-committee responsible for selected to successful family.

“We have what we call the ‘Family Selection Committee’, explains Cain.

“There are three of us on that. And what happens, we go through the process with the families. Identify those that make the short list and then identify the ultimate family.

Cain says once that’s done, there still at least one more hurdle to cross.

“In the long run, once we identify the family, we do send that down for vetting to Habitat Winnipeg, who are our sponsors. Just to make sure everything is taken care of. They are just there to make sure we have everything covered.”

The information session will take place on Wednesday, October 30th at 7 pm at Seven Generation Education Institute.
