Kenora City council is facing a budget crunch next year.
The City of Kenora is looking at a 40 percent jump in police costs next year.
Initial estimates show the city will have to pay the OPP $8.78 million.
That’s about a $2.548 million increase from this year.
The city is also facing a 12 percent increase in social services next year.
That includes the Health Unit, the Kenora District Homes for the Aged and the Kenora District Services Board.
