Jill of All Trades convention hopes to bring girls into skilled trades

An event in Thunder Bay hopes to bring more young women into the skilled trades.

This morning, grades 9 through 12 will get some hands-on experience with different jobs at the Jill of All Trades convention.

The Confederation College is hosting the event to draw attention to jobs traditionally dominated by men.

Several industry proffessionals and college alumni will host workshops and sessions to mentor students in different fields.

The college says they hope the event will empower the next generation of women working in the skilled trades.
