Council agrees to more discussion on sewer and water rate increase

If debate on the Sewer and Water budget is any indication, it could be a long budget process this year.

Council has deferred on making any decision on a sewer and water rate increase in 2025.

It could be anywhere from 4.65 percent and 8.8 percent.

Initially council passed a 3.1 percent increase, but administration is worried that won’t produce any sort of surplus for the city.

The only thing council could agree on was delaying the purchase of the water delivery truck for one year.

A new truck was on the purchase list for 2025.

Council will revisit the Sewer and Water Budget at their November Committee of the Whole meeting.
