Collision claims two lives on Highway 17-A/by-pass still closed

Two people are dead following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17-A near Kenora.

The accident took place around 9:00 Monday morning and involved three semi-transports.

It took place between Beryl Winder Road and Highway 596.

The OPP say two of the drivers were killed and pronounced dead at the scene.

The third driver remained but reported only minor injuries.

Police, the Northwest EMS, and Kenora Fire and Emergency Services all responded

The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team has been assisting with the investigation.

The Kenora by-pass is still closed almost 24 hours after the accident.
