Trudeau speaks at Liberal fundraiser after tumultuous day in parliament

The Prime Minister visited a Liberal fundraiser after a chaotic day in parliament.

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland and Housing minister Sean Fraser resigned from their cabinet positions on Monday.

Several reports in recent weeks described tensions between Freeland and Trudeau.

Speaking at the event in Gatineau, Quebec, Justin Trudeau says it was not an easy day, but he loves his country and wanted to speak with supporters.

“There is no place I’d rather be than Canada, and it is the privilege of my life, to serve as your prime minister.”

Trudeau went on to say the world is becoming more and more complex, unstable and dangerous, and with the new global reality, “we all must pull together.”

He says Canada is the best country on earth, but it’s not perfect.

“That’s why I wake up every single day thinking about how to make this nation work better for all Canadians.”
