Growing calls for Trudeau to step down as Liberal Leader

Nearly 70 per cent of Canadians believe Justin Trudeau should step down as the Liberal Party leader.

The new Leger poll reveals that this sentiment has been growing since September.

Around one-third of Liberal supporters think Trudeau should resign, according to the survey.

The poll also shows many Canadians are looking to Chrystia Freeland, who resigned from cabinet on Dec. 16, as the next potential successor.

Other notable contenders among Liberal voters include Mark Carney, Dominic LeBlanc and Mélanie Joly.

According to the survey, nearly three-quarters of Canadians are dissatisfied with Trudeau’s government.

Trudeau is now the third option among party leaders who would make the best prime minister, behind Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh.
