Canada Post back to full service levels for domestic parcels

Canada Post continues to experience delivery delays weeks after a month-long strike by workers.

The Crown corporation said Tuesday that it has returned to full service levels for domestic parcels.

However, the company said it continues to work through higher volumes of mail within its network.

Delivery delays of several days can be expected for Transaction Mail such as letters, bills and statements.

It is a similar story for international items as the corporation continues to deal with accumulated volumes.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Postal Service said it has resumed accepting mail and packages to Canada.

The government agency had stopped taking mail and packages destined for our country during the strike.

Around 55,000 Canada Post workers walked off the job on Nov. 15 but were ordered back on Dec. 17 after the federal industrial relations board ruled the two sides were at an impasse.
