Canada’s Premiers are scheduled for a joint mission to Washington, D.C. in February 2025 to strengthen the economic and political ties between Canada and the U.S.
They will meet with key members of the new U.S. Administration, Congress, and business leaders to discuss shared priorities such as job creation, economic growth, energy cooperation, critical mineral supply chains, border security, and immigration.
This visit follows recent remarks by President-elect Donald Trump concerning Canada, which are expected to be part of the discussions.
The economic relationship between Canada and the U.S. is significant, with annual trade exceeding a trillion dollars. The U.S. exports more to Canada than to China, Japan, and Germany combined, underscoring the importance of this partnership in supporting millions of jobs on both sides of the border.
In addition to the scheduled meetings, some Premiers will return to Washington later in February for the National Governors Association’s annual meeting to continue engaging with U.S. counterparts.
