Keewatin-Patricia will now offer resources to Shibogama community schools

The Keewatin-Patricia school board will now work with students living in Shibogama First Nations communities.

The development is part of the new memorandum of understanding signed by the board and the Shibogama council, according to a news release.

The agreement would help students at First Nations community schools prepare to transition to high school,

and offer pathways to help students work in their communities when they graduate.

The board will also provide resources to teachers at Shibogama community schools to help with literacy, numeracy, mental health and well-being.

Keewatin-Patricia Education Director Christy Radbourne says the board is grateful to be trusted with this work.
