Tariffs on Canadian exports are “wrong on many levels,” according to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Trump put tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum exports in 2018, during his first term as president.
But experts say the move raised prices for both manufacturers and also everyday Americans.
Now he’s threatening to put 25 per cent tariffs on the same metals starting March 12.
Instead of trying the same thing again, the chamber says Trump should reduce trade barriers.
That would boost job growth and GDP in both countries.
The chamber says America relies on what Canada has to offer, and we do better when we work together.
