City of Kenora set to hire new CBO

The City of Kenora has been able to fill a long-time vacancy.

City council has approved the hiring of a Chief Building Officer.

John Taylor comes from Port Colborne.

He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Kevin Robertson in June of 2023.

Initially, the city hired a Building Services Coordinator to provide building inspection services and fulfill the CBO’s administrative responsibilities.

Following the departure of the Building Services Coordinator in November 2024, the city once again advertised for the position of CBO and used RSM Building Consultants for
CBO services on a contract basis.

Taylor starts his new job today.
