Fatal collision in April of last year results in charges

A 42-year-old woman from the Wabaseemoong Independent Nation has been charged in connection with a fatal collision almost a year ago.

The accident took place on Highway 525 around 1 pm on April 13th and involved an SUV.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene in the single vehicle accident and two other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, the driver of the SUV has been charged criminally with two counts of impaired operation causing death, impaired operation causing bodily harm, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

She was held for a bail hearing pending a court appearance today
