Winter Weekend of Wonder begins Friday

It’s being called the Winter Weekend of Wonder.

The Kenora winter carnival is taking place this weekend.

Morgan Seller is the special events coordinator for the city and says it all gets underway Friday night.

“At the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion starting at 5:30 there’s going to be some fire pits, hot chocolate and couple of surprises, before the 6:45 pm fireworks,” says Seller.

Seller says they will be collecting donations all weekend long as well.

“We have partnered with First Student Bus Lines to a stuff a bus donation drive. And that’s going to be happening Friday at the tent, as well as Saturday and Sunday. So please check out the list of needed items for people in the community and if you can please donate to the cause!”

There will be activities around the community on Saturday.

Most of the events on Sunday will take place at Rabbit Lake, including a kid’s ice fishing tournament.
