26-year-old man charged after firearm incident in Dryden

A firearm incident in Dryden has led to charges against a 26-year-old man.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a firearm discharge at a home on Mary Avenue shortly after 12 a.m. on Friday

Police say one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man is facing the following charges under the Criminal Code:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.
