Fighting Walleye a win away from advancing to round 2 of SIJHL playoffs

Game four in the first round of SIJHL playoffs takes place tonight.

The Kam River Fighting Walleye can advance to the next round with a win over the Ironwood Lumberjacks.

The Walleye have a 3-0 series lead after a 6-0 win last night.

The Thunder Bay North Stars and the Red Lake Miners each have 2-1 series leads.

The North Stars scored twice in the final 2 and a half minutes of last night’s game for force overtime and won it 5-4.

Maxwell Buffone scored the game winner with 9:06 remaining in the first overtime.

The Miners got by the Sioux Lookout Bombers 3-2.
