Fighting Walleye advance to second round in SIJHL playoffs

The Kam River Fighting Walleye are off to the second round of the SIJHL playoffs.

The Walleye swept the Ironwood Lumberjacks in four straight games with a 4-1 win last night.

The other two series are knotted at two games apiece.

The Fort Frances Lakers got back in their series with the Thunder Bay North Stars with a 5-1 win Wednesday night at home.

The defending champs, the Sioux Lookout Bombers also evened their series with the Red Lake Mines thanks to a 5-1 victory.

Those two series resume Friday night.
