KDSB announces Child Poverty Reduction Reinvestment grants

The Kenora District Service Board has announced just over $130,000 from its Child Poverty Reduction Reinvestment Fund.

A total of 11 groups or agencies are getting money.

The largest grant of over $56,000 goes to the Northwestern Health Unit for its Nutrition on Weekends program.

Ignace is also getting three grants.

The Ignace Public School has been earmarked $5,000 for its Loonie lunch gram.

The Ignace Youth Center will be getting $5,000 for youth recreation and the Ignace Nursery School is receiving $2,300 for its food security program.

Other recipients are:

Ecole Immaculée-Conception – Student Nutrition $4,000
Horseshoe Connection – Cultural Recreation $9,500
Making Connections for Children and Youth – Recreation Access $15,000
Minto Early Learning Centre– Food Security $7,500
Red Lake Indian Friendship Centre – Recreation Access $12,750
Township of Ear Falls – Youth Drop-In Centre $2,500
Triple P.L.A.Y. – Recreation Access $10,000
