Outflow increased at Norman Dam

The Lake of the Woods Control Board has increased outflow through the Norman Dam, not once, but twice over the Easter Long Weekend.

The first took place last Thursday and the second was on Saturday.

The Control Board says it wants to gradually refill the lake during the spring melt.

As a result of the outflow increases, the Winnipeg River is expected to rising 11 centimeters below the Norman Dam and 5 centimeters at the Dalles.

Water levels went up about 3 centimeters last week and will increase 5 to 8 centimeters over the next seven days.
