SIU investigates woman’s death in Kenora

A woman in medical distress at the Kenora Detachment of the OPP has now passed away.

Initially, the 46-year-old was arrested Saturday morning around 11 am on Water Street because she was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant.

She was taken the Kenora Detachment and placed in a cell pending a bail hearing.

Early Sunday morning around 2 am, she had to be taken to hospital and was put on a ventilator.

She died around 5:17 that evening.

A post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday.

The Ontario Special Investigation Unit has dispatched three investigators and two forensic investigators to look into the matter.
