A resident on Lake of the Woods faces a huge fine for a building in the Clearwater Bay Restricted Area.
Robert Platford was building a cottage in 2020, which he had a permit for, but was required to tear down an old cabin.
He never did and as a result he exceeded the 20 percent of property development that is allowed.
He has been fined $100,000 under the Public Lands Act and the old cabin has since been torn down and removed.
