Pikangikum First Nation: Provincial police seeking assistance in sudden death investigation

The provincial police are seeking the public’s assistance after determining the cause of death in an ongoing investigation in Pikangikum First Nation.

Officers were sent to Big House Road on Sunday evening after learning of a person in medical distress.

The individual was later pronounced dead after being transported to the community Nursing Station.

An autopsy determined that the cause of death was a vehicle collision.

Anyone who was in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and has not spoken to investigators is asked to contact the provincial police.

The investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
