NAPS seize nearly $54,000 in drugs

The Nishnawbe Aski Police continue to target airports on northern First Nations for drug trafficking.

The most recent incident took place on North Spirit Lake.

Police say they had a call for service at the local airport last Thursday.

A passenger is believed to be bringing crack cocaine, cocaine, and methamphetamines.

A 33-year-old woman from North Spirit Lake has been arrested.

She remains in custody pending a future court date.

It’s estimated the value of drug has a street value of nearly $54,000.
