UPDATE: Bomb threats made against several Canadian airports

Operations have returned to normal after bomb threats were made at several major Canadian airports early Thursday.

NAV Canada was made aware of threats affecting facilities in Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Air traffic control towers were evacuated, and temporary ground stops were put in place at the affected airports, it said.

“Following this morning’s security threat at multiple NAV CANADA sites, all operations have now returned to normal,” the air traffic control service said in a social media post.

“In the interest of security protocols, we cannot disclose the specific nature of the threat. However, we will continue to work closely with authorities as the investigation progresses.”

NAV Canada said delays are still possible, and encouraged travellers to check with their airline for the latest updates.
