Another appeal to slow down traffic near Dryden High

Dryden city council is being asked for some way to slow traffic down in front of the high school.

Ron Fults and Darcy Nolte made a deputation to city council this week.

Fults says the area is an accident just waiting to happen.

“We haven’t had any incidents as of yet, but we are going to have an incident,” Fults said during his deputation at Monday night’s open meeting.

“I firmly believe we are going to have an incident because Casimir at 50 kilometers an hour, during school hours, way too fast.”

Darcy Nolte, who works at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says they would like to see a school zone added to Casimir Avenue.

“The OPP are busy; they are out there doing a job. We need, in my opinion, make that a school zone, and that way the OPP can have some teeth when they have to stop somebody.”

Fults says they would like to see a school zone, and/or a crosswalk added to Casimir Avenue.
