Hydro One says it has reduced the number of customers from Kenora to Thunder Bay that are still without power.
Electricity went out last night around 10:00 due to severe thunderstorms right across the region.
There are still about 500 homes without power.
Hydro One says most of the homes should have power again by late this afternoon but it may take until late tonight or even tomorrow, before electricity is restored to all its customers.
